2010 Wimbledon Sports Week
The Wimbledon Sports Week was once again back this year and the event organised by The Wimbledon Going for Gold organisation was yet another rousing success. The event that was held from the 25th - 29th October aims to encourage children and families from the local area to get involved in sport, from tennis to golf and keeping fit to football.
Paul Strank Roofing Ltd helped to set up the event by providing the fencing, Astroturf pitches and materials for the events playing area. Indeed if you visited the main event held outside Wimbledon train station and the Wimbledon Piazza you would have seen the Paul Strank Roofing Ltd banners alongside the children trying out various sporting activities.
Along with setting up the Sports Week main event Paul Strank Roofing Ltd also participated in the Business to Business Sports Challenge where 16 local businesses took part in a 5-a-Side football tournament at the Goals Football Centre in New Malden. I can proudly report that our team played excellently and was even up against a team of semi-professionals from AFC Wimbledon. The Paul Strank Roofing team managed to get all the way to the final and were narrowly beaten by Admiral Scaffolding finishing runner-up.
